    Wadaef 2015 attracts more than 14000 visitor in three days
     
    Wadeaf 2015 Exhibition, organized by Asharqia Chamber of commerce was under the auspices of His Highness governor of the eastern region, and was held in Dhahran Expo Center has attracted a lot of companies and  job seekers, who were looking for job opportunities.  The number of visitors amounted to approximately 14 000 visitors during the 3 days. Saleh Bin Ali Al Humaidan, chairman of  Human Resources committee in Asharqia chamber of commerce, said that during the third day of the exhibition, Tuesday October 13, 2015, that the exhibition is an ideal platform for job seekers whether young men or women. It will offer them a chance to see companies with stellar reputation in the business sector under one roof.
    AlHumaidan said that this  exhibition aims to shorten the time and effort for job seekers. It is the largest gathering of companies who offer more than 5000 jobs. Visitors can browse between the different sections and booths, until they find the job that suits their ambitions and potential.


    AlHumaidan said that young people should work on themselves and their abilities and should take on any opportunity of Joining any company in order to develop their skills and experience which in turn would enable them to get promotions, had they showed patience and diligence. He stressed that young people should focus more on studying the desired majors in the business sector, noting that the labor market is evolving and is witnessing the emergence of a national companies as well as foreign companies to open up new employment opportunity for the new specialties.
    For his part, Mohammed ibn Mubarak baziad, the HR manager in Al-Rashid group had asserted on the importance of writing a proper (CV).  Bazaid said during a workshop entitled “my CV is the way to get a job” that writing a proper CV is a chance for the job seeker to highlight their qualifications and skillls, thus, attract the fitting job. A CV is a summary of the range of life stages experienced by the job seeker, academically and professionally. It should be written in a chronological order and include the main events and experiences gained. It should also have the qualifications, skills, achievements and experience within a realistic timeline.  Moreover, it should be sufficient so that the potential employer can form an initial opinion about the job seeker. He mentioned that it should be well written, concise and organized, clear of any grammatical or spelling mistakes, written in a chronological order, to have a better chance in getting the desired job. He digressed to say that despite the importance of a well-written CV, having the right connections is much more effective. According to a study conducted by Marc Jeranova, a university professor in Chicago, about ways to get a job, it was indicated that 56 percent of those who get jobs relied on their personal networks and it was affirmed both parties (employers and employee). Both parties prefer employing people they know through their personal networks.  He mentioned that some of the desirable skills in future employees are innate (like creativity) while other are acquired (like speaking English or knowing how to use the computer), thus, job seekers should focus on the acquired skills instead of feeling that they are falling behind for not possessing the innate ones. He concluded the workshop by saying that despite the many rules for writing proper CV, he believes the most essential rule to be honest and clear about what you list in your CV.

    It is worth noting that this exhibit is for all job seekers, whether recent graduates or experienced to compete for jobs and find what fits their needs and capabilities from the supplied jobs in the exhibit. It is considered an opportunity for job seekers and companies alike. It will give job seekers whether recent graduates of experienced a chance to browse through a wide range of job opportunities, which will in turn give the companies a chance to have their pick from such candidates to join their teams. Moreover, an event to support the Saudization efforts. It will be facilitate the private sector’s endeavors in creating jobs for Saudis, and meeting the Saudization quota needs by providing a link between the business sector and training and employment services providers. It will also facilitate sharing experiences and transferring expertise between participants who work in the human resources and recruitment management field, as well as creating a professional ambiance for job seekers to help them plan for their future, especially in terms of choosing the suitable job. This exhibition is meant to spread The Culture of Professionalism in the society.
